Jaffa Laam LAM
Jaffa Laam Lam is conceptual sculptor specializing in large-scale site specific work of mixed-media sculptural installations that include woodcarving, water, light, plastic, glass, soft material, and metal. She is also involved in public sculpture and community project in Hong Kong and overseas. Her work have been exhibited in numerous solo shows and included in important regional and international exhibition and collection. She has participated in artists residency programs in Hamburg, Kenya, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Shanghai, New York and Toronto,ect. Jaffa was chosen as one of the highlighted artists by the Hong Kong Art Promotion Office for its "Artists in Neighbourhood Scheme II 2003", Asia Cultural Council 2006 grantee, 2007-2008 New York Urban Glass visiting artist fellow and invited artist for 10th anniversary of Tree Museum in Toronto, Canada.
Lam is an artist, arts administrator and educator who teaches sculpture at the Hong Kong Art School, and co-founded and chairs the AiR Associated Ltd. in Hong Kong.
Jaffa Lam received her BFA, MFA and Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She teaches in Hong Kong Art School, Hong Kong Arts Centre now.
